The ambitious team is now looking for a skilled account director with strong public relations, corporate communications and public affairs experience in the technology space to lead client campaigns.

The role

We are looking for a highly-skilled person to join the Madano Technology Practice as an Account Director. This role offers fantastic development opportunities for an ambitious person wanting to make a difference and play a key role in the development of a growing area of our business. You will be working very closely with the Head of Technology at Madano and leading a talented team of people.

The person should have more than six years in the communications profession working with technology companies or have a background in public affairs/Government:


Client management

· Demonstrate a strong grasp of current events and the technology landscape and an understanding of how they provide context for clients’ and our own business.

· Establish and maintain relationships of trust with client and be able to set and manage client expectations.

· Leading large client programmes and mandates.

· Assume ultimate responsibility for quality control on all mandates.

· Deliver counsel in a firm and confident manner.

Public Affairs experience

· Understand how Government works and the emerging policy and regulations in the technology sector to appropriately advise clients.

· Be able to offer counsel to clients in these areas.

· Build and execute comprehensive stakeholder engagement programmes, including government, to support clients’ objectives.

Corporate communications skills

· Develop and produce communications strategies alongside corporate narrative and messaging.

· Work with media in the tech sector and deliver successful media relations campaigns for clients.

· Generate top-tier media coverage for clients based on creative storytelling and the strength of relationships, and support/develop junior team members in these areas.

· Be able to manage organic and paid social media marketing campaigns.



· Lead day-to-day client programmes and have an active role in coaching and professional development of the team, and also bringing your wider skills to the rest of the business.

· Responsible for performance reviews, professional development and promotion processes within the practice.

Financial management

· Have a lead operational role in financially significant or strategic accounts.

· Understand and use appropriate financial and management tools to achieve client and Madano objectives.

· Manage the achievement of billable targets of individuals and of the Practice.

· Contribute to achieving financial performance of Madano.

Business development

· Identify and respond to and lead new business pitches and opportunities.

· Maintain an active presence in the communications and/or business community through networking and professional association.

· Grow accounts by recognizing and maximizing opportunities.
