Connecting industry with investors and policymakers at the Hydrogen Investment Forum.
Challenge
Initial support is one thing, but continued support is another. With a large ‘drop’ of hydrogen and CCUS documentation by DESNZ in December 2023, Madano wanted to provide an opportunity for the hydrogen industry to engage with government and investors.
Approach
Working with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, we utilised the event format from 2022, to host the second Hydrogen Investment Forum. With learnings from the first event Madano also organised, we aimed to double attendance of investors, as well as government officials. Separated into speaker sessions and a policy forum, this event would stand out from the other H2 events in the calendar.
Impact
The event maxed capacity, with 300 investors and hydrogen industry C-suite attendees. We hosted 80 government officials across various departments, and had three government ministers speaking, including the Secretary of State. Feedback from Ministers, Hydrogen UK members, investors, government officials and other attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Aides told Madano the Secretary of State was thrilled with the event and mentioned it as a highlight during a DESNZ one-year anniversary reception.
